Nurses for Germany
GERMANY NEEDS 200,000 NURSES BY 2020
200,000 - The target number of registered nurses the German government wants to recruit from the Philippines by 2020 - with or without experience.
SALARY & BENEFITS
The monthly gross salary for a skilled worker and a 40 hours' work week shall be between 1,800.00 EUR and 2,700.00 EUR or more; overtime and night work will be paid separately.
Germany has a well-developed social security system, that includes health care and other insurances, which you can immediately benefit from.
On top of that, employers usually offer paid vacation, 13th month salary, an Employer-funded pension and financial support in pursuing further studies for specialization.
RECOGNITION AS A NURSE IN GERMANY
If you want to work as a registered general nurse in Germany without any restrictions, you need a state license. This license acknowledges you as a registered general nurse and entitles you to practice the profession.
You may also apply for a state license if you have foreign qualifications. The competent authorities review your qualifications for equivalence with a corresponding German qualification.

Recognition in Germany
To be able to work in Germany, speaking the German language is a must. Therefore, the German government requires foreign health care professionals to study the language up to level B2.
Prepare your documents and get in touch with employer/s or agencies of your choice. If you wish, we can forward your application to different employers on your behalf. If an employer is interested to hire you, you will receive a job offer.
Your agency will guide you through the next steps which will be translating your documents, applying for Recognition of your qualifications in Germany and applying for your working visa.
Most employers will shoulder the fees for either language training, translations, application for recognition, your flight ticket from the Philippines to Germany, provide accommodation for the first few months and/or facilitate vocational training in Germany.
We are working closely with selected, POEA accredited, local and German partner agencies who facilitate the job application process.

- Birth Certificate (NSO)
- High school diploma
- College diploma
- PRC certificate, license ID, and/or diploma
- NBI and/or Police Clearance
- German Proficiency, Level B2 (certificates from Goethe-Institut/telc GmbH verified)
My Language Cafe has been offering German classes in Cebu since 2011.
Since 2015, more and more nurses have joined our German A1 to B2 program and we are already proud of a growing number of B2 exam passers.
CLASS SCHEDULES AND TIMELINE
We commit ourselves to recruiting and retaining highly qualified native German teachers.
We regularly ask both students and teachers for feedback regarding the quality of the class and take concerns and issues very seriously.
We hold individual and group meetings with teachers and staff to ensure everyone is in line with the school’s vision and targets.
CHAPTER TESTS, VOCABULARY TESTS AND INTERNAL EXAMINATIONS
In our German classes, we use standardized books. After each chapter of the book we'll conduct a chapter test and a vocabulary test. At the end of each level there will be an internal exam. The students have to pass it with at least 75% before they can proceed to the next level.
ATTENDANCE, PUNCTUALITY AND HOMEWORK
Our teachers are provided with an attendance sheet for each class to take note of each student's attendance, participation and progress. They also have access to a google sheet to encode their notes online.
Between each level, there is a one-week break. This gap week can be used for review classes, if needed. In the event that a student fails the official B2 exam, we also offer B2 exam reviews before their next scheduled exam.
12-MONTH PERIOD GOAL
Our German Intensive training has an estimated time of 8-10 months to prepare the students adequately for the official B2 examination and most importantly for a life as a nurse in Germany; with an additional period of 2-3 months for the German B2 examination and VISA application we target a timeline of 12 months.
- To register for the class, a 50% downpayment is required.
- The remaining balance shall be paid upon class start.
- You may pay your registration fee in cash, by check or through bank deposit.
Usually, only the A1 and A2 course fees will be paid by the nurse. B1 & B2 course fess will be financed by your agency
or refunded upon completion. It depends on your agreement with your agency/employer. Some agencies offer full scholarship under certain conditions.
We do our best to offer you the lowest rates possible. So, we have two rates based on group size: the Small Group Rate and the Big Group Rate.
Our default rate is the Small Group Rate with 3-6 students. But as soon as more than 6 students enroll for the class, you will automatically avail of the Big Group Rate.
BOOKS AND SCHOOL MATERIALS
We hand-picked the most efficient and relevant standardized books fresh from Germany for all levels, which we believe are the best materials out there.
